Gordon’s Restaurants has released its full 2016 rankings of the top 50 American restaurants in terms of customer satisfaction, food quality and customer service.
The ranking marks the second consecutive year Gordon’s has topped the list, which was released in 2016.
The American restaurant industry is one of the most competitive in the world, with an average of $3.5 billion in annual revenue, and consumers expect a lot more from a restaurant.
But this year, some major players have stepped away from the business, including Chipotle Mexican Grill and Subway.
The companies said their exit plans were due to a combination of factors, including a shift to more organic foods and the impact of the Zika virus.
Gordon’s restaurants rank in the top five for customer satisfaction in the country, with customer satisfaction at a healthy 70.3 percent.
The top restaurants are also among the top 10 in quality of food, customer service, food, food safety and food safety standards.
A survey by the consumer goods firm G.W. Shandwick Associates found that nearly three-quarters of restaurant customers said they were satisfied with the quality of their food and beverages.
Gordon’s ranked number one in the quality rankings with a rating of 70.2 out of 100, while its competitor, Subway, was number four with a score of 69.2.
G.W., based in Arlington, Virginia, said it had increased its focus on sustainability, including making sustainable products and cutting the environmental footprint of its restaurants.
“We’re very focused on the health and safety of our people and our suppliers,” said CEO Richard Lee.
“We are focused on creating a better environment that can be shared across our restaurants and our workforce, and we’re making strides to do that by sourcing from suppliers who are more environmentally friendly and less expensive than conventional suppliers.”
Gordon is known for its food and beverage offerings, including its signature Chicken Alfredo, which is sold by a network of more than 3,000 restaurants across the U.S. It is also a leading manufacturer of frozen meat, cheese and frozen fruits and vegetables.
