A group of people from Costa Rica are taking advantage of a loophole in the country’s food law to buy gluten-free pasta at Costco.
The Costco group in Costa Rican town of San Fernando is the latest retailer to come under fire over its gluten-friendly products.
The Costa Rican government has ordered Costco to ban the use of the word gluten in its pasta product descriptions.
The government said the use would hurt the countrys economy and cost the consumer billions of dollars.
Costco has defended its products by saying that the product names and labels do not refer to gluten.
The group is demanding the ban be lifted.
